KnowItNow Toolbar Instructions for Firefox

Installing the Toolbar

  1. Click on the "Download the KnowItNow Toolbar" graphic to start.

  2. When the install dialog box appears, click the Install Now button. If you get a message that software installation is disabled, directions on how to enable them are located here.

  3. After clicking the Install Now button you will be asked to restart Firefox. Click on the "X" to close the extensions dialog box, then close Firefox.

  4. After you have restarted Firefox. you will see your new toolbar.

Enabling toolbar installation.

  1. Go to you edit menu and click on the Preferences option.

  2. Then select the Web Featuresoption. After that make sure the Allow web sites to install software box is checked. Then click the Allowed Sites button.

  3. When the allowed sites dialog box comes up use "www.knowitnow.org" for the address of web site. Then click allow.

  4. Click OK, then at the Preferences window click OK again.
  5. Now you can go ahead and install the toolbar.
